TEN COMMANDMENTS OF WORK ETHICS WORKSHEET In the spaces below, write out your own moral and ethical standards for your behavior on the job. These ten commandments should be the ten most important values that you hold for your work. For each commandment write out a behavior that exemplifies what the commandment is all about. Commandment 1: Thou shall protect the privacy of all students. Behavior 1: Not disclosing any information about any student under my care to anyone outside of the primary treatment team. Commandment 2: Thou shall treat all students equally. Behavior 2: Will not show favoritism, equal praise and equal consequences for every student. Commandment 3: Thou shall teach the love of Jesus Christ. Behavior 3: Ensure that in all things, that we maintain a Christ centered attitude of peace and love. Commandment 4: Thou shall not judge students. Behavior 4: Do not look at past offenses, but focus on the student as a person not a delinquent. Commandment 5: Thou shall maintain an aura of positivity. Behavior 5: We can never let our students tell if we are having a bad day, we must not take our frustrations out on students. It is not their fault for our bad day. Commandment 6: Thou shall give consequences in private. Behavior 6: Not calling a student out in front of others, instead speak them in private, the opposite is also true which is to give praise in the presence of others. Commandment 7: Thou shall dress appropriately and maintain proper hygiene. Behavior 7: Students are held to a standard that we must also model by setting the example. Commandment 8: Thou shall maintain integrity through accountability of one’s self. Behavior 8: Admit our mistakes, and take corrective actions. Commandment 9: Thou shall always seek improvements in one’s self. Behavior 9: Find areas of improvement, and find ways to improve upon them. Commandment 10: Thou will hold co-workers accountable through actions and prayer. Behavior 10: Speak to coworkers in private about negative actions they may have done and offer prayer to help build the team.
