Covenant Obligations: Our duty and responsibility to follow the rules set forth by God that was handed down to Moses on Mt. Sinai. A call to return to God and his word: A call to God’s people to return to their heritage; which is rooted in God and his word. A call to personal holiness and righteousness: To be holy and display positive goodness and righteousness that would shine as a light to the dark in the world. A call to be at peace with each other: God wanted his people to exercise love and compassion to each other. Day of the Lord: A time immediate judgement Gods judgement on people: That God will judge all sin regardless if the person is a believer or non-believer. The cleansing and purging of God’s people: Where God’s people conform to his image, and the promise handed down by God to refine their lives even if by extreme measures. The salvation of God’s people: The promise of those who believe and follow God that he will for forget them. Concept of Messiah: The implication of the anointed one coming as God’s chosen instrument.   Supporting Biblical References: Prophetic Themes: Covenant Obligations: Jeremiah 34:15-16 "Although recently you had turned and done what is right in My sight, each man proclaiming release to his neighbor, and you had made a covenant before Me in the house which is called by My name. "Yet you turned and profaned My name, and each man took back his male servant and each man his female servant whom you had set free according to their desire, and you brought them into subjection to be your male servants and female servants."'   A call to return to God and his word: Hosea 14:1 Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity. A call to personal holiness and righteousness: Isaiah 57:15 For this is what the high and exalted One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.” A call to be at peace with each other: Zechariah 8:16 These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another; render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace; Day of the Lord: Ezekiel 30:3 For a day is near; a day belonging to the LORD is near. It will be a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations. Gods judgement on people: Ezekiel 30:6 This is what the LORD says: Those who support Egypt will fall, and its proud strength will collapse. From Migdol to Syene they will fall within it by the sword. This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.      The cleansing and purging of God’s people Ezekiel 36:25 I will also sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will cleanse you from all your impurities and all your idols. The salvation of God’s people Ezekiel 36:29 I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will summon the grain and make it plentiful, and will not bring famine on you. Concept of Messiah Ezekiel 37:25-26 25“They will live in the land that I gave to My servant Jacob, where your fathers lived. They will live in it forever with their children and grandchildren, and My servant David will be their prince forever. 26I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them.
